The Professional Writers Association of Canada (PWAC) is Canada's national organization of professional freelance writers. Founded in 1976, PWAC has been promoting the rights and careers of freelance writers and journalists for 25 years and has almost 600 members. 

PWAC Toronto is the country's largest PWAC chapter with 150+ members who write for a variety of local, regional and national newspapers and magazines, as well as web sites, corporations, small businesses, government agencies and charitable and non-profit organizations.
